What is the best time of year to go fishing in Venice for specific species?

Fishing is always good in Venice, Louisiana! We mean it! There is not a bad time of year to fish down in Venice. We are limited mainly by the weather, where we fish, and what we can catch. But one thing is for sure: We always catch!

What types of fish can we expect to catch during a fishing trip in this area?

Inshore – Trout, Redfish, Blackdrum, Flounder and Bass.

Nearshore – Red snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Cobia, Pompano, and Sheepshead.

Are guided fishing trips available, and what do those typically include?

What should we bring ourselves?

All you need to bring is…

Whatever food and drinks you need for your trip.
Polarized sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen.
Appropriate clothing. And be ready to catch fish until your arms hurt!

What are the licensing requirements for fishing in Louisiana, and can we get our licenses on-site?

Do you have accommodation for when we can book our fishing trip with you?

Yes, We have a lodge that sleeps seven people. The newly remodelled two-bedroom, bathroom house is minutes from where your fishing trip departs.

What happens if we need to cancel a trip due to weather?

When it happens, we always make that decision as close to the trip as possible. But if it will be unsafe to run, WE will refund your deposit or move your booking to another date, whichever you prefer.
